Principle
Empire thrives on lies and division, and the church has sold itself to empire’s script. They rail against the poor for “sins of the flesh” while practicing the deeper sins of the spirit — apathy, complacency, and compromise. They wag their fingers at smoking, drinking, or how people dress, but they bless greed, applaud wealth, and worship at the altar of success.
Look at the empire-church: stadiums filled, lights flashing, pastors on giant screens, preaching that wealth equals blessing. Joel Osteen smiles and sells books, telling the poor that God wants them rich — while he hoards millions and builds empires on the backs of tithes from desperate people. These pulpits preach Mammon and call it Christ. They are the polished, moral face of an ungodly system that marries worth to finances. They are chaplains of capitalism, not prophets of the Kingdom.
The People of the Light reject this lie. We witness, teach, and reconcile. Not by harping on petty “sins,” but by naming the real ones: apathy in the face of suffering, complacency with injustice, and compromise with empire. Our witness is not a sermon on a stage — it is a life lived in fire, refusing silence, refusing greed, refusing to sell out. Our teaching is not locked in seminaries and pulpits — it is passed worker to worker, neighbor to neighbor, freely. Our reconciliation is not polite words — it is breaking the chains empire uses to divide us, building unity across race, class, and background.
Faith is not chains. Faith is freedom. To witness, teach, and reconcile is to live as a radical example, exposing lies, tearing down walls, and refusing to bow to a church that worships money while ignoring the poor.
How We Walk It Out
Personally:
Be the witness. Live in a way that screams freedom — refuse compromise, call out lies, refuse silence when greed or injustice show their face. Teach from your life. Teach your children that worth is not in money. Show your neighbors that generosity is greater than hoarding. Live so your life itself preaches Christ’s freedom. Reconcile across lines. Refuse to let race, class, or status divide you from another. Tear down empire’s false categories.
Together in Hubs:
Circles of truth. Not passive pews, but living rooms, kitchens, and break rooms where workers teach workers, families teach families, and truth is shared hand to hand. Public witness. Protests, solidarity actions, meals in the street — our life together is the sermon. Radical reconciliation. Hubs make a mockery of empire’s divisions. Black, white, immigrant, native, worker, poor — all breaking bread, all standing as one.
As Resistance:
Against empire. We expose its real sins — greed, exploitation, violence, idolatry of wealth. Against the church system. We strip away their façade. The megachurch preachers are not shepherds but CEOs, not prophets but salesmen. Their wealth is theft. Their morality is compromise. For the Light. Witness, teaching, and reconciliation reveal that the Kingdom is not about respectability or riches — it is about freedom, justice, and mercy.
Reclaim & Redistribute
We reclaim truth stolen by propaganda. We reclaim teaching stolen by pulpits and paywalls. We reclaim worth stolen by prosperity preachers who tie it to wealth. And we redistribute freedom — lifting the poor, empowering workers, reconciling the divided, teaching that every person is priceless in the Light.
The Stand-Out Truth
Christ overturned tables of moneychangers. He rebuked the rich who trusted in their wealth. He reconciled enemies, lifted the poor, and shattered divisions. His witness was fire, His teaching was free, His reconciliation was radical.
But America worships money, and the church mirrors it. Joel Osteen smiles from his mansion. Pastors preach that wealth is blessing and poverty is a curse. The poor cry out for bread, and the empire-church builds another campus with stained glass and screens. They are the most moral-looking representatives of an ungodly system that bows to Mammon.
This must end. To witness, teach, and reconcile is to burn down the lie that wealth equals worth. It is to expose apathy, complacency, and compromise as the true sins. It is to live lives so radical, so free, so full of Light, that no empire-church can silence us.
