Restoring the Faith of Our Fathers
We believe the Pentecostal fire belongs to the people. It was never meant for empires, denominations, or stage-managed spectacles. It was born among the poor, the immigrant, the outcast, and the worker. It was interracial, unpolished, raw, and free.
At Azusa Street, the Spirit fell on men and women, Black and white, immigrant and native, poor and overlooked. The outcasts became leaders. The broken became healers. The Spirit was poured out on all flesh. That was the faith of our fathers.
But empire could not tolerate freedom. Racism crept in through Charles Parham and split the movement, birthing institutions that chained the Spirit to respectability, nationalism, and greed. The Assemblies of God built their empire while Black Pentecostals were pushed aside. Legalism became law. Fire became franchise. What belonged to the poor was stolen by the powerful.
We are here to take it back.
We are here to restore the faith of our fathers, not as a nostalgic return, but as a living fire for today. A faith where:
The Spirit fills all flesh — sons and daughters, workers and immigrants, the LGBTQ+, the addicted, the poor and the overlooked. The Spirit breaks chains — of racism, legalism, nationalism, and empire. The Spirit empowers justice — not charity crumbs, but redistribution, solidarity, and protection of the vulnerable. The Spirit ignites freedom — not rules, not rituals, not hierarchies, but courage, rest, healing, and joy.
We will not hide this fire to appear respectable. We will not sell it for donations or buildings. We will not let the Spirit be used to control the people it came to liberate.
This is not just a social gospel. This is not just a spiritual gospel. It is both. The Spirit feeds bodies and heals souls. The Spirit brings bread to the table and courage to the streets. The Spirit makes us laugh, weep, prophesy, and resist.
The empire church betrayed Pentecost. We will restore it.
We are the People of the Light.
We are the People’s Revival.
We are restoring the faith of our fathers — interracial, poor, outcast, Spirit-filled, and free.
